This week is Body Image Awareness week and self-love is a hot topic at the moment. I wanted to raise a question to you in relation to this “Does wearing makeup, doing your hair, wearing the latest fashion mean that you don’t have self-love”? Because from time to time I have seen this insinuated and I just wanted to have a conversation with you around this and share my opinion.
I understand that for some people (that don’t have self-love) they can use things like makeup, fashion etc to make themselves feel better but that is not what I am talking about here. For me, wearing makeup, doing my hair and wearing nice clothes is a form of self-care and self-love. When I feel beautiful in myself I want to look after myself and dress beautifully, wear makeup that enhances my beauty and that is ok. I only put on my skin pure, natural, organic products because I love and cherish myself.
I really want to have a conversation with you around this and hear your opinion gorgeous. Because I feel that looking beautiful and putting on some red lipstick, high heels and getting your hair did’ is the highest form of self-care and self-love. It’s a treat for yourself. I think that there is nothing wrong with it at all. Most days of my week I am makeup free and all natural, but when I do decide to wear makeup and gorgeous clothes I love it! And it’s not because I am hiding imperfections or don’t love who I am!
I would love to hear your opinion on this gorgeous. Do you agree or disagree?
